Insanity: doing the same thing over and over again and expecting different result
We are creatures of habit. We tend to do what we have always done. If we are successful this is a good thing. If we are not successful (and for the purpose of this discussion we are talking about academic success), then we need to shake it up a bit, try new things, make new habits, give up those patterns that have held us back.
You have probably heard Einstein’s Definition of Insanity
So, if it has not worked for you in the past, STOP! Try something different. And expect different results.
What NOT to Do Before an Exam!
This video helps students avoid certain “10 Do Not” areas prior to sitting for exams:
- Do Not Use Social Media
- Do Not Compare Your Preparation
- Do Not Try Any Other Book
- Avoid Procrastination
- Do Not Get Influenced By Someone
- Do Not Eat Outside Food
- Do Not Get Hurt
- Do Not Oversleep.
Utilize proven techniques to avoid mistakes that could hinder you from success before and during the CMAA Certification exam.
Include the following aspects in the discussion:
- I deliberately left out numbers 9 & 10 of what you should never do before an exam – List the 2 (9 & 10) not mentioned in the brief synopsis.
- Discuss the importance of the 2 that were not listed in the brief synopsis.
- Choose 5 of the 10 that you can use that would help you to be better prepared for the exam.
- Share if you have used any of the strategies in the past? Why or why not?
