Explanation: Have EKG interpretation refresher course, education on preoperative and Post anesthesia care unit PACU charting and education on the Joint commission requirements on pain reassessment in the PACU

2.Activities and events that happened this week, including accomplishments and disappointments- 14 points

Explanation: EKG refresher sessions were given to the Same-day surgery nurse and PACU nurses as well as education on proper nursing documentation. Pain reassessments were also educated. The nurses have many non-nursing roles that their time to document is on the bottom list.

3.Hurdles and barriers- 14 points

Explanation: The education sessions were hard to be administered due to lack of free time because Preoperative unit and PACU is very busy from 8am until 5pm.

4.Project revisions or adjustments- 14 points

Explanation: More time must be devoted to the chart audits and more staff is encouraged to join.

5.Next week’s goals- Educate the nurses who were off last week. Continue with the Nursing documentation audit after the education sessions.
