When attempting to accomplish tasks on a large scale, the creation of partnerships is important to their success. However, there are additional factors that must be considered creating sustainable partnerships. For instance, it is imperative to understand the socio-cultural and political dynamics associated with partnership in various health system contexts (Barnes et al., 2016). These creates well-informed health professionals that can make informed decisions.

The basis of successful partnerships also stems from displaying transparency and honesty. Yet, these factors develop from the implementation of servant leadership. This style of leadership ensures the well-being and growth of the stakeholders and employees within the organization (Purdue University Global, 2020).

An example of one who has exhibited servant leadership skills to building a cross-cultural partnership is Rev. Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. Dr. King opted for a Christian, non-violent approach to conquer the social injustices present in the world. His efforts were successful because he knew that this method would be more difficult but knew it would be more beneficial to those he was fighting for (Brown, n.d.).

A remark was made stating, “A true partnership involves risk shared by all parties.” I agree with that statement for two reasons. First, embarking on a task as a partnership involves a shared vision that presents opportunities for all parties to grow (Saldinger, 2020). Thus, when that goal or vision is not reached, all parties have failed. Second, if there are adverse events that transpire placing individuals at risk, it is the responsibility of all parties.
