(Gordon S document1)Psoriasis

Psoriasis is a skin disorder that affects many people of all ages, races and economic levels. It is defined as a noninfectious skin inflammation, the most common being plague psoriasis. The plague psoriasis looks like raised scaly white patches often itchy and painful. They are many possible causes for this disorder includes stress, trauma, infection hormonal changes obesity even climate change can cause it. The main factor appears to come from genic predisposition, which some might argue not true. Some articles and books do states if the parents have psoriasis more than likely the child might inherit the skin disorder. Signs and symptoms include pain, skin tightness, burning and stinging of the skin. Clubbing and pitting fingernails can also be signs of psoriasis. Now in the scenario we have KM 38 y/o who was already diagnosed with psoriasis and has been dealing with it for the past 6 years. Today she appears to have a flare up and what to improve the condition of the skin. Patient might have to try many different types of medications before finding the right one to treat the disorder. We as the nurses will need to give KM emotional support to help her with any low self-esteem issues. She would have to use only prescribed therapies and not home remedies. KM should afford scratching her skin so not to irritate the sites even more and keep the area moisturized. She would need to reduce stress and remove herself from stressful situations. KM also would need to wear light cotton clothing, when possible, this helps with the itchiness of the skin. This is something a patient will have to battle for the rest of the life because currently there is no cure, but it can be successful managed.

Most people are self-conscious about their appearance the way look to themselves and others. Especially in my opinion we women, love to look at ourselves and try our best to take of ourselves. Though we sometimes miss the mark, when it comes to our health and doing our self-breast exam. It is so important, so we learn our breast and be able to identify any changes early. There are many different types of lumps in the breast like fibroadenoma and fibrocystic that can be begin. Then on other hand you have some lumps that can be malignant breast tumors that are cancerous. The malignant tumor comes in irregular shape firm to stony and poorly define. Sometimes its painful and may have some discharge but it doesn’t start of painful usually when it gets painful it has moved on to stages. Fibrocystic lumps can be painful, fibroadenoma is not. These two-breast disorder are round, lobular shape firm and rubbery. One of the most important things a person can do is self-breast exams every month. That way a person can recognize the changes if any and get answer from the doctor as soon as possible. We are fighting the good fight but still too many women are diagnose too late and dying from breast cancer. ?References

(theodore S document2) Psoriasis is a skin disorder that causes rapid cell multiplication than a normal rate. In particular, it makes the cells multiply about ten times faster than normal. This rapid multiplication of cells leads to the formation of bumpy red patches on the skin. These red patches are covered with white scales. These outgrowths can emerge anywhere on the body but mostly on the elbows, knees, scalp, and lower back (Rendon & Schäkel, 2019). This condition is chronic with no specific cure. Instead, it goes through cycles of flaring and subsiding. Treatment usually focuses on symptom management and includes lifestyle habits and the incorporation of coping strategies to help an individual live better with the condition.

The primary cause of psoriasis remains largely unknown. Nevertheless, it is believed that problems in the immune system have a role in developing this skin condition. It is considered an autoimmune disease that causes the skin to regenerate at a faster rate than normal. Furthermore, what causes the malfunctioning of the immune system is not clear. It is believed that both genetics and environmental factors have a role to play in immune malfunctioning (Rendon & Schäkel, 2019). There are environmental factors that are believed to trigger this condition. These include skin infection and strep throat, Weather, stress, rapid withdrawal from corticosteroids, certain medications such as lithium, and injury to the skin such as a cut or scrape.

The sign and symptoms of this condition vary based on the type of psoriasis one is suffering from. However, this condition’s common signs and symptoms include red patches that are usually formed on the skin. The patches are covered with a thick, silvery scale. The patches may crack open and bleed or itch. Other common symptoms include small scaling spots, itching, burning, or soreness.

Part 2

Fibrocystic breast disease is a condition characterized by a lumpy feeling in the breast. Fibrocystic breasts are usually not harmful but pose discomfort for individuals with the condition. The common symptoms of the fibrocystic breast include swelling on a section of the breast, tenderness on the affected site, pain, and lumps in one or both breasts. Fibrocystic breast lumps usually fluctuate in size throughout the month and are usually movable. In addition, this condition is characterized by red or bloody fluids oozing from the nipples. The fluid is usually signifying breast cancer. For some women, the condition is associated with dark brown or green discharge from the nipples (Malherbe & Fatima, 2019).

On the other hand, fibroadenoma is a solid lump that forms on the breasts, especially those of young women between 15 and 35 years. Unlike fibrocystic breast disease, fibroadenoma has a shape and is painless, unlike fibrocystic breast disease. However, they are both movable under the skin when being examined. The common symptoms of fibroadenoma include round solid lumps with smooth borders. The lumps are firm but movable. They are rubbery and painless. Malignant breast cancer is a tumor that grows in or around the breast tissues(Punitha, Amuthan & Joseph, 2018). It grows mostly in the milk ducts or glands. Malignant breast cancer, unlike fibroadenoma and fibrocystic breast lumps, is not movable. Therefore, they do not spread to other parts of the body or other parts of the breast. They are not life-threatening like the two but increases the chances of getting breast cancer. Some of the symptoms of malignant breast cancer include new lumps in the breast and swelling of part of the breast. However, malignant breast cancer is painless, unlike fibrocystic breast lumps.
