A collaborative approach that my practicum site has or is utilizing to accomplish community and organizational health goals.

Firstly, my practicum site is a non-profit organization that was established in 2018. This organization is small and newly established, therefore the collaborative partnership that they have formed is on a smaller scale compared to my fellow classmates who are a part of an organization that is larger and was established decades ago. Nevertheless, a collaborative approach that my practicum site Abigail Healthcare Diabetes Clinic partake in is having a collaborative partnership with local schools within the county for athletic student ranging from elementary to high schoolers who needs a school physical. Based on this collaborative partnership, the organization is able to provide reduced cost for the service as well as treating the children for any underlying medical illness that was discovered during the evaluation that might prevent the students from partaking in their desired sport. Initially, the collaborative approach that the organization used to accomplish this act was by creating flyers and distributing it at local facilities where students might be as well as placing stacks of flyers at various schools. Eventually, the teachers and staff started referring children to the organization, and eventually, a partnership was created. However, this year, the organization decided to also collaborate with colleges and universities by providing school physicals for college athletic students.
