Research Assignment #1

1.Conduct a literature search in PsycINFO (EBSCO), SocINDEX (EBSCO), Medline (EBSCO). DO NOT use other databases or non-professional sources such as magazines, newspapers, book reviews on a research issue/problem/question (e.g. child abuse, job satisfaction, community violence). Copy down at least 5 citations (references) to articles that are concerned with your issue, and provide the abstracts of these articles.

1. Abstracts are copied or photo’d from the database(s) from which they were retrieved. The author(s), title, date, etc. should be visible on your copies or pictures

3.Submit your assignment as follows:

1. First page:

Cover sheet on which you type your name, course number and section, date and the name of the concept you are searching for.

1. Second page:

Type the references for all the articles using CORRECT APA style (see APA Manual).

1. Third page:

The copied abstract or a snapshot.

Example of concepts: Prejudice; Prejudice toward transgender people; obesity among children, job satisfaction among social workers in long-term facilities. A caution: A concept cannot be: Mental health problems and college students (it looks as 2 concepts) but mental health problems among college students.
