According to the World Health Organization (WHO), health inequalities are unjust treatment within a society that is believed to be a prominent public health issue. According to the World Health Organization (WHO). Health inequities are systematic alterations in the health status of different population groups. The various factors are believed to have high social and economic costs both to individuals and societies (WHO, n.d.). Four components that interrelate with health inequality are education, employment status, income level, gender, and ethnicity which are believed to have an influence on a society’s public health and a health care system (WHO, n.d.). If public health professionals eliminate health inequality, the positive feedback loop would be that all individuals within any society would be treated fairly. On the other hand, if health inequalities continue the way it is, unfortunately, health disparities would endure, and individuals would have to pay the price negatively. According to WHO, thousands of individuals lose their lives globally with diseases like pneumonia, malaria, diarrhea, and other infectious diseases due to health inequalities (WHO, n.d.). Therefore, I believe addressing health disparities would solve various public health issues and save many lives.
