The current health care organization that I work for prioritizes the quality improvement process based on the specific needs of our clients and the organization’s employees. They are focused on achieving the goal to improve patient health outcomes with the organization’s budget expenses in mind. For example, we typically receive new technology systems and updates for collecting care-delivery data and methods for tracking our client outcomes. Due to the continuous updates in health care technology, our QI department is always asking the organization’s employees and patients, “How are we doing?” and “How can we improve our services?” This is done by collecting data on the outcomes of our clients and the overall patient and staff satisfaction responses.
This research plays a significant role in the overall decision-making process because the organization evaluates the given data from patient outcomes or from staff and client feedback, and they can incorporate change to best meet the organization’s goals. Our organization also uses the benchmarking approach, in which they compare our performance to similar health care institutions (O’Donnell & Gupta, 2021). Each goal then has tracked metrics that help determine our outcomes.
