I think a good example of good ethics is when internal affairs are proactive. This unit seeks out officers involved in deviant behavior and dealing with them appropriately.  Ethical policing builds trust in the community because it shows civilians that nobody is above the law and makes them feel safe that if in fact an officer commits a deviant act he will be punished accordingly.

Good ethics is basically “the right thing to do.” What is Morally right. Ethics is the right decision while also being unbiased. Ethical policing plays a big role in building trust and legitimacy in the community in terms of crime control and also crime rate. Law enforcement officers must safeguard the public’s trust to perform their jobs effectively.
