Assignment Submission: Pediatric and Health psychology

In response to our class lecture on eating disorders and health psychology – see Chapters 15 and 16 of Weis (2018) – this assignment helps you to examine aspects of health related disorders that can significantly affect the lives of children and adolescents. Choose one of the following tasks for your assignment submission.

Options for this assignment

1. Conduct an internet search of Pro-Ana or Pro-Mia. Look at a variety of different websites on the topic. Write a short reflection about what types of results you found, and your reactions to this information. In connection with Chapter 16, how might this information affect children and youth in our target population? How might a pediatric psychologist be useful to children and youth dealing with similar medical issues?
2. After watching the Little Stars documentary, write a short reflection on what you have learned about palliative care in children with serious medical conditions. In connection with Chapter 16, how might a pediatric psychologist be useful to children and youth dealing with similar medical issues?
