1. Pick a short excerpt to analyze from Act III in the play in which multiple characters don’t complete their thoughts, fail to say something, can’t find the words to express themselves, leave something unsaid, avoid saying something, etc. This is usually marked in the text with an ellipsis [three dots].

2. Citing specific lines within this excerpt , read between the lines and propose alternate/additional lines of dialogue [in brackets] to indicate what the character or characters are omitting. You may propose more than one possibility for each occurrence of an ellipsis. 

3. Discuss possible reasons for these omissions [what is the effect of leaving these specific lines unsaid?].  [Hint: there may be multiple, different uses for the ellipses].

4. Identify and briefly discuss at least 1 additional [non-verbal, extra-verbal] device that Rakesh uses to convey meaning in this excerpt.
