Before making your selections for either list of 7 fictional characters on paper to survive or 4 fictional characters to be elimination think about creating a new world and needing the right people to help you survive to rebuild this new world. Read each scenario carefully more than once making sure you do not overlook any fact about each make believe person. Please leave your emotions out of your selection process because it is an educational tool used to teach us about society, human behavior, labeling and stereotyping. There are certain people (five) on the list of eleven who matter more than the others do and they are “key players” and if you place any of them on the wrong list, students will lose points. Seven people should be on the survivor’s list and some on the list that are not “key players” are called “floaters” which means it really does not matter which list they end up on because students will not lose any points. On your list of 4 fictional characters for elimination, you must also choose carefully to make sure the “key players” make the correct list but you may have some “floaters” in that list also. . To receive a high score on the assignment you must pick your list very carefully. Then in complete sentences state why you kept or eliminated each fictional character. Think about procreation and survival needed to rebuild your new world with those seven who you select to survive. Think about why society feels those on the list of elimination should not make the survivor list. Now remember this is your world so who would you select and why.
