For each selected week, develop an argument that answers these general questions: What do the readings, film, and discussions from this week contribute to a structural, cultural, or political analysis of Intersectionality and Black Life? How is a focus on intersectionality useful? As you develop an argument, ask yourself, “How are the readings connected? Are the authors in conflict or in agreement on a particular issue? Which arguments seem the most plausible and why? If you were asked to contribute a piece to round out the readings, what would you write?” Your paper must briefly summarize and analyze the arguments and evidence of at least two of the week’s texts (readings or movie) to help advance your thesis. These responses should represent a synthesis of the week’s ideas and demonstrate a thoughtful engagement with the course.
