For this assignment You are a preschool teacher you will write a rationale based on the preschool theme in the classroom . Preschool Feelings Theme. You will need the book Hall, N. S. (1998). Creative resources for anti-bias classroom. Albany, NY: Delmar Publisher.

A Preschool Feelings Theme can help children identify and name their emotions. Throughout each day, children experience a wide range of feelings. Sometimes they experience them from hour to hour or sometimes from minute to minute! You can use this theme to teach the children how to react to their emotions as well.

3. What will you display? Why? How would that relate to anti-bias and cultural relevancy?

4. What will the children be able to add to the environment that reflects their culture?

5. What puppets, finger puppets, stick puppets, pictures, flannel stories, charts, posters, etc. will you create, borrow or purchase to support your theme?

Explain the most appropriate method(s) to take with the activity and is contingent upon the children’s developmental capabilities. The methods are:

1. Incorporation: “including an item or some aspect that reflects one or more areas of bias into the experience” (Hall, 1999, p. #). It can range from pictures, ski-toned paints, paper, crayons, nylon stockings and felt, utensils, spices, music, or fabric.

2. Personalization: “involves a real person, reflecting a particular area of diversity, visiting and interacting with the children” (Hall, 1999. P. #).

3. Modified Personalization: “occurs when the children themselves participate in the activity. In this approach, children can learn from one another how they and their families are similar and different” (Hall, 1999. p. #).

4. Extension: “occurs when an activity is expanded into another area of diversity through the use of divergent questions or having the children explores different actions” (Hall, 1999. p. #).

5. Then discuss how the methods/approaches in promoting optimum learning and development
