Assessment Type: An analytical assignment (2000 words -/10%)

Purpose: The purpose of this assessment is to develop research and analytical skills to show how genres function and to give examples of how the genres differ and how they accomplish what they are intended to do in speech and written work.

Value: 30%

Submission: Upload to Turnitin – Week 10 (Friday 18^th September, 5pm)

Task details:

Students are to choose a text from a particular genre and analyse it in terms of its structure, textual and grammatical features using appropriate metalanguage covered in the course so far. Students will then produce a series of 2-4 lesson plans which aim to assist students in creating a text type which shares the same genre.
