DCB Difference in American Soldiers at The Vietnam Conflict Discussion

I’m working on a history discussion question and need an explanation to help me learn.

What so you perceive as a major difference of the American soldiers at the start of the Vietnam conflict and those that arrive at a later date?

What does Rock and Roll have to do with race and how people were viewed?

How do you think that the American soldier was defined by his race, ethnic background, home town, and religion?

– Do your own research on these questions based on the information that in the videos. Put your sources at the end of each question you answer. It helps to have more that one source. Three is better.

This is a fictional story of a group of American soldiers, “Kelly’s Heroes”, during WWII. It was made in 1970. The Vietnam war had its impact on the film industry and this film shows the comic relief needed during that time.

Now for Rock and Roll and the racial and social overtones of the late 1950 and early 1960s.

The next video is in six parts.

This should give you a real good idea of racial disparity in our country at this early time.

Buddy Holly is another example of an artist breaking through barriers. Garry Busey played him in the next few cuts.

Dennis Quaid played Jerry Lee Lewis in a bio movie. Here is a cut from that film. You may find this entertaining or at lest fun. It did happen so enjoy.
