Can you help me understand this Psychology question?

Pick a topic of your choice from personality psychology, social psychology, or stress and health, and design a study to investigate further about your topic. Answer the following questions:

1. State your hypothesis and your rationale for the hypothesis. For example, people who rater higher on extroversion on the Big Five Personality Traits, are more likely to experience higher stress.

2. Identify and explain the best method to investigate your hypothese (expriment or correlation) and approach (longitudinal or cross-sectional). For example, for my hypothesis above, I would conduct a correlation because I want to see if there is a relationship between personality trait and stress levels; for this hypothesis, I am not looking to find out the cause and effect. I will do this using cross-sectional approach because I will gather data on a single group of people and one specific time point.

3. If your response to part 2 was experiemnet, what are the independent and dependent variables?

4. How would you gather the information you need? For example, I would administer the Big Five Personality test to measure extroversion and I would use the Social Readjustment Rating Scale (Holmes & Rahe, 1967) to measure stress levels.

5. Are there any ethical concerns you must address? For example, look through the six guidelines for conducting ethical research from earlier in the semester.
