Below are three examples of professional correspondence, a letter, and email, and a memo:

All of these correspondences have strengths and weaknesses. Review the the correspondence, then address the following for each example:

Describe the letter’s/email’s/memo’s strengths and weaknesses regarding:

  • Format
  • Organization
  • Writing Style
  • Purpose/Audience Awareness

Be sure to cite/quote/reference sections of textbook chapters when possible as you are describing each document

Part 2: Revise and Rewrite a Sample Document

Identify the most effective and least effective correspondence from the samples above and explain why you picked the ones you picked. Please reference what you learned in the textbook when possible. Then, choose one correspondence and rewrite it so that it more effectively accomplished its goals.
