1. Why do we regard substance use disorders differently than other disorders? Why is there so much stigma associated with these symptoms and labels? Describe the recent research on neurobiological etiology of substance use disorders and how this might be used to decrease stigma.

2. Discuss what you have learned about the etiology of Eating Disorders. Be sure to include at least some discussion of brain based etiology, the role of neurotransmitters and cognitive behavioral factors.

4. Choose one of the disorders first diagnosed in childhood. Describe the most effective approaches to treatment for that disorder. Discuss what you know about prognosis – what is/are the likely outcome(s) in adulthood (be sure to explain the different developmental paths if there is more than one).
