I’m working on a sociology writing question and need a sample draft to help me learn.

The foundation to understanding Sociology is the 3 core theoretical perspectives that have different views of how society operates. Functionalist, conflict, and symbolic interactionist. The textbook compares these three perspectives. Each asks a different question. The functionalist will ask: What is the function or purpose of this topic? The conflict theorist will ask: Who wins and who loses in this topic? Their focus is on inequality/specifically with economics and/or power. The symbolic interactionist will ask: What meaning is there for the individual person? This perspective is different than the other two. It looks at what does the person gain from this topic?

Pick a specific topic such as religion, sports, education, criminal justice system, etc. Then, you will apply the 3 sociological perspectives to that topic. There should be a healthy paragraph (7-10 sentences) for each theory. So, you will have 3 paragraphs with the definition of the theory written out and at least 2 key textbook terms from that perspective in your writing to help explain how this theory applies to your chosen topic. You need to bold print the textbook terms or use the highlight tool to identify the definitions
