Part 1

Select a few episodes and view the videos. While watching take notes on one featured artist that interests you. You may need to watch a few episodes to find one that you connect with. From the video try to answer this question: Why does this artist make art?

Part 2

Search the internet to find additional artworks from the artist you have chosen from the video. *note artist’s personal websites, museum websites, art gallery websites, and online periodicals are typically the best sources for artist information.

Compile 3-4 images that interest you into a document and label each image with the artwork title, date is was created, materials it was made from, and size of the artwork. Below these write a brief 1-2 paragraph statement about why you think the images you chose are considered art.
