ASSIGNMENT

The paper should consist of the following three sections:

Case Description

In this section, describe a person you know personally, or a public or historic figure.  Write a brief biography of the person focusing on a particular pattern of thoughts, feelings, or behaviors.

Theoretical Background

In this section, describe the history, development, and current status of two personality theories covered in the course.  Each theory must be covered in a different chapter of the text.  Focus on a particular theory, not a general perspective (e.g, Rogers’ theory, not all theories with a humanistic perspective).

Application of Theories

In this section, explain the particular behavior pattern of the case using each of the two theories you described in the previous section.  Describe how each theory would explain the causes of the person’s thoughts, actions or behavior.  Also, explain how each theory would make a different prediction about the future progression of the individual’s behavior.

Use specific information about the case to support your explanations and predictions, and summarize the differences or similarities between the two theories.
