Discussion One

The topic I had always wondered about is that music affects people with mental health disorders the same or different as those without mental health disorders. I feel that normally this would be a qualitative study. The research question might be “is the difference between people with mental disorders different than those with no mental health disorders when it comes to music being relaxing?”. But I feel that it might change dramatically when you change the methodology.

I feel that the article by Sandberg & Alvesson was the most interesting and helpful (2010). I feel that it helped me to know more about how to write a research question. Since this is also the most important thing when it comes to a research study it is important to know how to write it.

Discussion Two

When it comes to research I have never had a big interest in conducting it. However, throughout my studies of psychology and criminology a big interest of research for me has been the affect of treatment intervention implemented in juvenile Justice system among juveniles with developmental challenges or autism. I have experience in the field of psychology: ABA and criminology, but I have yet to see the two combined in practice within the juvenile Justice system. I am very passionate when it comes to our youth especially the underprivileged youth. I find it to be important to help those who are incapable or lack the capable of independently elping themselves due to developmental challenges, mental illness or autism.
