Old Westbury History Hetch Tetchy Valley Water System Debate

From 1908-1913, Congress debated legislation to supply the city of San Francisco (SF) with water by damming the Hetch Hetchy Valley. As it debated this legislation, Congress negotiated the fate of the federally protected Hetch Hetchy valley located in Yosemite National Park – asking should the dam be built to provide water to SF or should the valley be preserved? Look through the primary sources and argue for one side: build the dam or protect the valley? Write a 2-3 minute message you would like Congress to see (I know this is anachronistic).

Make sure you reference the primary sources to build your case. You do not need to use/read all of them, but use them to build your argument and also address potential rebuttals.
