1. There are individuals with physical or health-related disabilities all around us, attending schools, shopping in stores, and volunteering in our communities. Some disabilities are visible and some are undetectable; however, a disability may have a significant impact on education and life outcomes if appropriate knowledge and accommodations are not present.
   Special educators must have a foundation of knowledge about many disabilities and their implications for function. In addition, they need to be familiar with legal provisions for education and supplementary supports and services. The purpose of this assignment is to identify and organize this information to ensure understanding of physical and health-related disabilities.
   Create a 1-page quick reference document with information on these two disability categories: orthopedic impairment and other health impairment.
   Address the following topics:  
   • IDEA (2004) definitions
   • Criteria for eligibility in each category
   • 3-5 conditions in each category (include medical conditions associated)
   • Laws or policies related to providing specialized health care
   • Possible complications with medical support services
   • Typical service delivery options
   • Write a 1-page paper to accompany your quick reference document that describes the following:
   • Critical issues in the lives of students with physical and health-related disabilities
   • Possible impact of disability on the individual, family, and society
   • Ideal teacher competencies for teaching students with physical and health-related disabilities
   • Use one of the following programs to create your reference document: Piktochart, Canva, Smore, or a program of your choice.
     Include the references you used to complete your reference document.
