Parent Youth Closeness a Family Management Practice Analysis

 

I don’t know how to handle this Education & Teaching question and need guidance.

1. (Beckmeyer et al., 2020) Which 1 or 2 family management practices (or FMPs) made the most sense as being significantly associated with flourishing outcomes (5 indicators)? Justify your answer as to why this/these association(s) make sense. Consider examples of one of the four types of families (or, for example, families with single mothers regardless of whether divorced or never married) with one example of FMP and how this family type might differently practice a given FMP, as compared with a nuclear family (not studied, consisting of two parents and biological or adopted children). Note: A classic FMP included in the study was family dinners (there’s a ton of research on this FMP and items measuring FMP are included in numerous surveys of youth and families).

2. (Putnam et al., 2020; Baglivio & Wolff, 2021) Describe, in your own words, how you understand ACEs to be related to youth and adult physical, mental, and behavioral health outcomes. In light of prevention and intervention, what is your preference for understanding ACEs – as cumulative (added with 4+ representing high risk) or synergistic (2 specific ACEs which together have more significant, profound effects on youth outcomes)? Justify your answer. Last, how might understanding synergistic effects of 2 specific ACEs (vs. viewing risk as having 4+) and/or exposure to positive childhood experiences, inform prevention and intervention to promote youth resilience (even PYD)?
