TRU Labor Market Trends Discussion

Over the semester, students will write two short responses — one in Module 1 and one in Module 2 — to questions that conclude chapters in our Grabbs, Reitz, and Hwang (2017) textbook.

As we read, you should select a required chapter from this textbook and respond to one of the concluding questions in two pages or 600-700 words. For example, you may have enjoyed Chapter 15 and wish to write your response to one question from that chapter. This would constitute your Module 2 response. While many of the questions ask for your thoughts on a particular issue of inequality, be sure to engage with the content of that chapter by drawing on terms, concepts, theories, or examples and cite appropriately. From your chosen chapter, select one of the “Questions for Critical Thought” that appear at the end of the chapter. Note that the chapters have different authors, so your citations will need careful attention here. also, As an example, For Chapter 3, the author is Jim Conley and an in-text citation might look like this: (Conley, 2017, p. 37).

I suggest writing in a more straightforward way, removing unnecessary or superfluous words. Communicating thoughts clearly and straightforwardly can improve the impact of what you’re saying. I’d love to see you engage with another idea or two from the text.
