History of America City on A Hill Discussion
I’m working on a History question and need guidance to help me study.
The English Puritans — strong Protestant Christians — spoke about coming to America to establish a shining “City on a Hill” that would serve as an example of clean, virtuous living for the entire world to follow. This idea that America is the “City on a Hill” runs very deep in the American character. But is it based on objective reality? Does God love the United States more than He loves any other people? Is America a land blessed like no other land?
