Education Support Program

Executive Summary

The Education Support Program is a kit whose mission is to solicit funds from both well-wishers and donors to help children from humble backgrounds access quality education. The main purpose of the program is to identify those children in selected developing countries who are bright yet they cannot afford quality education. The program aims at sponsoring these children to various levels of education as one way towards eradicating poverty and illiteracy.

Statement of Need

This program is not only vital but very argent especially in some developing countries in sub-Sahara Africa. Literacy levels in these countries, for instance, stand at 65 percent according to the research done in 2017. This means that One-third of the population aged 15 and up could not read or write. In comparison, the illiteracy rate in 1984 was 49 percent (Sub-Saharan Africa Literacy Rate 1985-2020, n.d.).

Eligibility

The programs will specifically target children from poor backgrounds and whose efforts are very promising in education. The field research will be conducted with the help of community leaders and the school community to identify those needy children after which sponsorship programs will commence until the level the children will reach in terms of academics. The child’s academic outcome will be regularly assessed to ensure that each sponsored child is making of the program.

Budget

To successfully enroll the kit, this program will require an approximate amount of close to $5 million. However, most of the funding of this kit will largely depend on private and public organizations, individual and corporate well-wishers, both local and international donors, and from proprietors of the program who happens to be me and other members.

Organization Information

This organization, ‘Education Support Program’ will entirely voluntary. However, to ensure that the program succeeds, staff will be recruited from the individual countries. The qualification will be based on the experiences on voluntary programs, humanitarian programs with at least basic education (secondary level) depending on the country where the program is being carried out.
