Look at the faculty bios. Choose TWO faculty (inside, affiliated with, or outside the department) you might want to work with. In at least one case, think outside the box. Maybe they’re not researching your planned topic or using their assigned method. What appeals to you about them? Write a short description of what you would hope to get out of a working relationship with them. What else are you looking for in a mentor? Someone to provide encouragement?
