For this assignment, locate five recent articles (2015 or later) in the journal The Analysis of Verbal Behavior that use single-subject research designs to answer research questions pertaining to assessment or instruction in verbal behavior.

For each of the five articles:

• Identify the research question.
• Describe briefly the research methods, including:

• Participants and setting.
• Materials.
• Experimental design.
• Procedure. (How were the independent variables implemented?)
• Analyze specifically how the research relates to Skinner’s analysis of verbal behavior. For example:

• What specific verbal operants were studied?
• How did the researchers assess and functionally analyze the verbal behaviors of interest?
• What issues involving multiple variables (Skinner, 1957, Part III), the manipulation of verbal behavior (Skinner, 1957, Part IV), and/or the production of verbal behavior (Skinner, 1957, Part V) played a role?
• Evaluate the results of the study.
• Assess the implications for the field of behavior analysis. For example:

• Does this provide us with a potential new way to teach verbal behavior?
• ​Is it a replication intended to provide more robust external validity for this line of research?
• Does it tell us what does not work?
• Analyze any directions for future research the authors suggest and consider why they suggest those directions. What limitations to the study may have urged their suggestions?
• Generate one research question that might come out of each direction for future research you identified.
