Joliet Junior College Research Plan Bibliography
Source List: Submit a formal list of sources in MLA format. Remember, the minimum is seven, and although this list is not final, it should be minimally complete (don’t leave gaps in the research you proposed to do). You are to find at least 4 scholarly sources (authored books or journal articles by experts working in the field of study) and at least three from the JJC Library databases(https://library.jjc.edu/home). The rest may be a combination of periodicals and web sources. You can always alter the list, but you should have most of your research completed by this time. Identify any questions/areas in which you need help. Make sure you’ve revised your initial research question to accurately reflect your research. Type it at top of the list. PLEASE CITE THE SOURCES IN THE CORRECT WAY.
THIS IS THE PROPOSAL (works cited must be about this proposal)
- Initial Position Statement
YouTube has created excellence in the way humans share ideas.
- My interest.
There are different reasons why I am interested in YouTube’s contribution to sharing information in modern society. First of all, I’m interested in how YouTube has become an essential medium for sharing information between different parties. Opinion leaders are moving from mainstream media channels to using YouTube to share ideas about how society can progress (Hou, 2018). A popular concept that has been gaining ground is vlogging. It is the equivalent of creating a visual journal that a person shares on YouTube.
I’ve been an ardent consumer of vlogging content on YouTube and I get a lot of ideas from these videos. One thing that attracts me about such content is its authenticity. There is minimal editing and that creates a meaningful connection with the audience. Most of the content is short and therefore easy to consume. That has piqued my interest in determining how YouTube has become such an effective way of sharing information. Also, some companies have leaned towards using YouTube videos to advertise their products or services. An example of that is the Ultimate Fighting Champion (UFC). The sports company uses YouTube to build buzz around its fights. Over time, you have gained a significant following on the platform, which means that your marketing efforts will be successful in increasing your audience for fights. Therefore, my interest has also arisen from seeing that big brands like UFC use YouTube as a means of marketing.
- My research plan.
As I analyze the previous topic, there are different things that I hope to find. First of all, it’s how YouTube has grown to become an important medium for sharing information. I would like to know the key events that contributed to this increase. At this juncture, I will seek expert opinion on the rise of blogging as a form of communication. Second, I hope to discover the ways YouTube has revolutionized the way people communicate. Developing a detailed account of how YouTube has become a crucial part of people’s lives is essential. Third, my goal is to find out how companies are incorporating YouTube as part of their core strategy.
There are different questions that research must answer. What are the benefits associated with the increased adoption of YouTube for information sharing? What is driving organizations to use YouTube to share information? Are there any downsides associated with using YouTube to share ideas? What role will YouTube play in the future in terms of sharing information? Answering the questions described above will help to gain a critical view of the issue at hand.
I’ll look to peer-reviewed sources to help dig deeper into the topic at hand. Peer-reviewed sources help you find reliable and objective information. Any peer-reviewed work has gone through expert scrutiny. Information from those sources will help me to reach accurate conclusions. In addition to that, I will restrict the sources to those that have been published in the last five years. That is bound to ensure that you only use relevant information during the investigation. I will need the instructor’s help to guide me when writing my research. That will be in terms of continuous feedback on my progress. As a result, I will avoid making mistakes during the investigation.
