During the 2020 presidential and congressional elections in the United States, election officials in some parts of the country were accused of manipulating the vote in favor of some candidates. These officials have pushed back on these accusations but there seems to be no consensus.

a. Would you say there are consequences to such accusations? List any two consequences (and cite your sources)

b. Using economic reasoning, justify the actions of the politicians in respect fueling these accusations around the country.
