I don’t understand this Religion question and need help to study.

It will be interesting to see how we each define Sacred Places, Peoples, Experiences.

Here’s the assignment for Encountering the Sacred:

The purpose of Journal/Response # 2 is to extend your discussion of what it means to

“encounter the sacred” based on your life experience and an examination of your beliefs

and exposure to other people’s beliefs about what is sacred. From Livingston we learned that

the holy or sacred can be “spiritual beings, cosmic laws, geographic places, ideals, or

ideologies.” To this list I would add Holy persons, sacred objects, sacred stories, sacred

symbols, sacred activities, sacred texts, but we will be encountering the stories, symbols,

activities (rituals) and texts in Chapters 4, 5 and 6. So for this purpose, let’s stick

with holy persons, places, objects, and times.
