You are the dance critic watching this dance. Imagine that you were hired by the LA or New York Times to see this piece live for the first time. Make sure to refer to the Ballet as a “Ballet” NOT a PLAY. Describe the following, as if you writing an article in the newspaper, reviewing the dance.

Include the following:

• Title
• Describe costumes
• Describe lighting
• Set design
• Music
• What does the dance tell you, is there a story that you see? Do not google information on the dance. I want your opinion. Do you like it, why or why not? You need to give examples. Many students just write about the story, I DO NOT WANT THAT. I want you to tell me parts/sections of the Ballet (not play, do not use play, it is not a play) that were interesting to you and why. Remember you are the dance critic; do try to NOT watch the dance twice, as you would only see it once LIVE.
• I recommend you choose one section from Act 1 and one section from Act 2. Students will ask what defines a section. The section will change with music, or a change of characters. Think of it as writing a review for a movie. Pick and choose two parts to write about.
