For this assignment, students will revise the expository essay, using the feedback given on the original essay. Revisions should focus on improving grammar and mechanics, strengthening introductions and thesis statements, fixing structural issues, and ensuring the essay has proper documentation and formatting. Students must include – as a separate document or at the end of the revised essay – an explanation of the changes they made to the original essay. Students will not receive credit if they do not include this explanation.

The revision assignment is intended to help students develop and strengthen their written communication skills.The revision assignment is a standalone assignment, separate from the original essay. There are two components to this assignment.

Part I: Make suggested revisions. PLEASE HIGHLIGHT, BOLD OR PUT IN A DIFFERENT COLOR FONT ALL OF MY CHANGES!!! In order to receive full credit for this assignment, students must incorporate all of the instructor’s feedback to the original essay including but not limited to:

7. Conclusion

Part II: Cover Letter

Write a letter reflecting on your revision. The letter should be in a professional format and should include the following:

A description of the original task and a summary of the feedback on the original submission.

An explanation of the changes you made to the original essay.

What you learned about your particular strengths, weaknesses, and habits as a writer.
