Warm up & Discussion 1.Discussion T will ask student to discuss under what circumstances they need to negotiate. 2. To find out what can make a good negotiator? 3. In order not to confuse the students, T will give guidance and use some instances. T-S S-T 6mins 2. Exploration 1. Discuss the typical stages in a negotiation, and the reasons for structuring a negotiation in this way 2. T will make a simple summary based on the students’ feedback. S-T 4mins 3. Reading & discussion Teacher will give fourteen sentences with similar meaning, students need to sort them from the most direct offer of a 5% discount to the most hypothetical through discussion. T-S S-S 5mins 4. Group work (analyse those fourteen sentences) Teacher gives students ten questions Students need to work in group (discuss those ten questions) Teacher helps them to analyze those questions. T-S S-S 5mins 5. Practice 1. Ss will be divided into two groups and do role playing based on specific situation. 2. Exchanging their roles for another authentic situation. T-S S-S 7mins 6. Summarize and feedback 1. T will review the key points and give Ss feedback based on their performance. T-S 3mins
