Persuasive Speech

Following Monroe’s motivated sequence, you will form a team with another student to give a 9- to 10- minute individual presentation to persuade the audience to support the mission of an organization. The organization must be one of the following groups:

• Business (e.g., store, restaurant)

• Campus club

• Non-profit organization

You must convince your audience to do one of the following actions:

• Join the group

• Donate money or something else to the group

• Spend time with the group

• Buy something from the group

Students must provide an outline, incorporate visual aids such as PowerPoint, and take into account the best practices in planning, preparing, creating your slides, and delivering as covered in class and the readings.
