Management homework help

One of you mentioned that your assignments are all kind of similar, and you haven’t had to write any messages that involve giving bad news. OK, I aim to please. Here it is.
You are working as an administrative assistant to the Executive Vice President of Marketing of a Fortune 500 company. Recently, your department has been actively engaged in a search to hire a marketing research firm to do in-depth marketing research for a new drone product that your company will be bringing to the market in the next two years.
As luck would have it, one of your fellow students from Business 3000 is working at Research21, an up-and-coming market research company. This company is relatively new in the field, but the principals, Bob and Mary Jo Williams, have impressive track records in market research, and the company has received positive reviews and coverage in the local and national media in the last year.
In fact, one company that used data from Research21 was able to reposition one of its iconic products, increase sales and re-establish the product as the sales leader in its niche. This accomplishment resulted in Research21 receiving a great deal of credit for the product turn around.
You were pleased to be able to recommend Research21 to your company as a candidate for the marketing research contract. Research21 went all out and made a very impressive presentation to senior managers at your company and were one of three final candidates for the contract.
Today you have found out that the Executive Vice President of Marketing has awarded the contract to a different company; Research21 has lost the bid.
The Vice President has asked you to let the two companies that have not received the contract know the results of the bidding process.
Write a letter to Research21 telling them that they have lost the contract.
