Management homework help
The owners of MovieFlix realize that they need to modernize their information management systems in order to make their processes run more smoothly and to solve some of their business problems.
- In 3 pages, discuss a technology system that you suggest for the company.
- Include why you selected that particular database or information system and how it will help improve MovieFlix’s processes.
- Discuss the potential costs of the system to the organization and how the system will help the company to increase their revenue.
- Remember to use credible sources. Make sure to write your paper utilizing proper APA formatting guidelines, and to include an APA formatted title page. Use NoodleBib to document your sources and to complete your APA formatted reference page and in-text citations.
Please open the Week 4 live class recording and scroll forward to Part 2. This is all about Module 5.
I will do my best to explain what a Management Information System (MIS) is and what you need to research for module 5.
Keep in mind the entire assignment depends on you – as the Consultant – recommending a specific MIS to MovieFlix. This means you need to select a specific software. Some examples I provide in the live class would be SAP, Oracle, Salesforce, Goldmine, sometimes even QuickBooks could be a ‘mini’ version of an MIS if you use all of the available options.
Once you have picked a specific software to recommend to MovieFlix, then you need to do Research (2 sources required in module 5). Tell us WHY you selected that specific system for MovieFlix. What are the ‘pros’ of using that system? What are the ‘cons’ – the things MF will need to watch out for. What makes this specific system “better” for MovieFlix than any of the other MIS softwares out there (and there are a LOT of them!).
Finally, you need to do a cost/benefit analysis. What will this software cost MF to acquire, install and operate? Are there other areas where MF might be able to ‘cut’ costs by using this software? What about the Revenue (i.e. Sales) streams: How will this software help MovieFlix not only sell more to existing customers but also acquire and retain ‘new’ customers?
