For this assignment, I would like you to write a 3 to 6-page paper (not including title and reference page) on one of the following topics: 

  • The impact of depression on college students
  • The impact of anxiety on college students
  • Factors that prevent a student from succeeding and persisting on to graduating from college
  • You can come up with your own topic, but you must get permission from me before writing on it.

What percentage of first-year college students are traditional (18 to 24 years old), nontraditional (began the first year of college after the age of 24 or perhaps they are married and/have children), and how many are first-generation college students. You can discuss how each might relate to academic success, as outlined in the literature.
