She has remained physically active since retiring from competitive marathons and maintains a relatively high volume of running with regular high intensity interval work (working at ~95% of her HR max). She has had two healthy pregnancies and ran regularly during each of her pregnancies. This included a marathon whilst 5 months pregnant. There was considerable media attention around her decision to run during these pregnancies with lots of media commentary suggesting that she should not have been running whilst pregnant.
