HIS 244 History of Latin America & Historically Marginalized Peoples Discussion

I’m working on a other discussion question and need a sample draft to help me learn.

Question:

In at least a 250 word response, what happens if those histories of historically marginalized peoples are the only histories that are told? What happens when we only teach the history of people in the context of their discrimination and oppression. What does that do to a student of history who might come from that same background, race, ethnicity, religion, gender, sexual orientation, immigrant status, or class? And while all classes must teach damage (eg: the history of repression, discrimination, white supremacy, colonization, slavery, inequality, etc), how do we make sure this isn’t the only historical narrative that is told and howdo we accomplish that?
