Post #1 – Do by Thursday at 11 pm

In this final discussion of the semester, reflect on what you’ve read in the module this week, and what’s happening in the world right now. Share something that struck you or that you’ve been thinking about related to race. Be sure to link your post to evidence and explanations from the module and textbook chapters. What questions do you still have?

Post #2 – Do by Friday at 11 pm

Our society continues to struggle with conversations about race, misunderstandings about the biology of human variation, and the history of racial discrimination and ongoing racial injustice. There are also many examples of organizations, scientists, academics, social justice educators, and journalists writing and presenting about these topics with the goals of educating people and moving our society towards greater equity and racial literacy.

How should we communicate scientific findings about human biological variation (and unpack misconceptions about race) more accurately and responsibly to those outside the anthropological community? What would you find interesting and compelling? What might help people understand these concepts more clearly?
