Proteins and Non Polar Groups of The Amino Acid Questionnaire

I’m working on a chemistry multi-part question and need an explanation to help me learn.

When proteins are folded and in their natural environment, the nonpolar groups of the amino acids are usually buried in the interior region of the proteins, where there is a little or no contact with water. When protein denatures, the chain unfolds so that these nonpolar groups are exposed to water in the solution. A useful estimate of the changes of the thermodynamic quantities because of denaturation is to consider the transfer of a hydrocarbon such as methane (nonpolar) from its inert solvent to the aqueous environment with the denatured protein. The process takes place in two steps:

?.??4(????????????)???4(?);?.??4(?)???4(??)A.CH4(inertsolvent)?CH4(g);B.CH4(g)?CH4(aq)

Properties of process A. : ??0=2.0??.????1;??0=?14.5??.????1;?H0=2.0kJ.mol?1;?G0=?14.5kJ.mol?1;

Properties of process B. ??0=?13.5??.????1;??0=26.5??.????1;?H0=?13.5kJ.mol?1;?G0=26.5kJ.mol?1;

Consider the transfer of 1 mole of CH4 according to the reaction:

?.??4(????????????)???4(??);C.CH4(inertsolvent)?CH4(aq);
