2. ESSAY. Discuss the French fairytale “Beauty and the Beast” and compare it to at least two other tales we have read in the second half of the semester. How does the French fairytale differ from those by the brothers Grimm? How is it similar? Be specific and name the tales you are addressing.
3. ESSAY. Discuss the essential elements of Little Red Riding Hood-type tales, explaining their similarities and differences. In particular, discuss the fate of the female protagonist (LRRH). Give examples from both old and modern works we have read.
