Did you experience any cognitive, physical, or developmental issues during this time?

Upon graduation from high school I had made new friends throughout my four years at Chase. After high school some of the friends I had made chose to go to college at universities and another chose to go to the military. My remaining friends attended ICC with me. My friends that had moved away, our friendship did change due to the distance, we communicated less and chose different paths of life.

  1. My relationship with my parents grew closer during this time. I began working a full time job and going to community college.

No

  1. I attended Isothermal Community College.
  2. During this time I didn’t know exactly what degree I wanted to pursue. I was going to school to make my parents happy. I was taking the basic classes to obtain a two year degree.
  3. At the time I did not have a program I was actually pursuing.
  4. How have the decisions of your parents affected your life?
  5. How have your experiences shaped your development/life?

How has your personality played a part in your life experiences?

  • How do you think it will play out in the future?
  • The decisions of parents affected my life because it was instilled in me that I needed to go to college. Even though at the time I was not ready for college. I felt pressured to make my parents happy. I completed a year, and then I ended up dropping out and failing a couple of classes for not properly withdrawing.
  • After I quit college I worked and hung out with my friends. I did not have any responsibilities. Eventually I became pregnant with my daughter. I had to learn to work and provide for her.
  • My personality has helped me throughout my life because I have always been outgoing. I have been able to meet people and develop friendships that have motivated and encouraged me to work harder to purse my goals.
  • I think in the future I will need to prioritize more when it comes to work and school, because if I do not it will just prolong the time for me to accomplish my goals. I have the support of my friends and family but ultimately it is up to me to stay focused and determined to work hard to obtain my future goals.
  • Furthermore, when writing this section, think about what you have learned about human development through this course including the theories that pertain to this time of development. Below students will find a list of questions to consider while writing each developmental period and a chart showing some of the theorists and the area of development in which they focused. Keep in mind that more than one theorist or theory may be applicable to a particular time period and the instructor requires students to apply at least three theories to each stage of life.
