Here are the instructions that my professor shared: This individual assignment is for you to write your

own philosophy about ecotourism. First, start your

paper with a definition of ecotourism that makes

sense to you. You can create your own, use one of

the ones provided in class, or find one online that

you like. If you use anything other than your own

definition, make sure you cite it.

Then, create and explain your personal ecotourism

philosophy. Document what you personally will look

for when you travel. When possible, use the

terminology covered in class and in your readings,

but more importantly, express what things you will

look for (and do) on your travels and what you will

avoid.

Papers should concisely and clearly communicate

your thoughts (800 to 1600 words). If you have

trouble reaching the word limit, give examples of

things that are acceptable under your philosophy (for

example, petting a koala if the animals are well

cared for) and things that are not (for example,

hunting elephants).

The point of this assignment is for you to develop

your own principals of what you believe is right for

you to do while traveling and what you should avoid.
