Your nurse manager has tasked you with researching the best practices to educate new mothers on correct positions for placing their baby to sleep. The sources used for this must come from scholarly peer-reviewed literature. The information you collect will be used to advise nurse educators at a local community center to assess the mothers’ understanding and relationship to sudden infant death syndrome (SIDS) prevention.

STEP 1:   In order to evaluate the evidence found, you will need to find and describe qualitative and quantitative research. What is the main difference between the two? Which one is considered the gold standard in research & why?

STEP 2:  Perform a database search on SIDS prevention; provide a quantitative and qualitative article. Make sure to attach the two articles you located to the discussion posting AND the rationale for choosing each article. These articles must also be cited using APA 7th edition. These need to be research articles and not systematic reviews (NOT a meta-analysis or meta-syntheses) from a peer-reviewed scholarly journal.
