1. Teacher’s support the children with thinking by helping them to explore and experiment (Charlesworth 2017). Teacher’s can ask question the child would not otherwise think of themselves. An example of this would be when a child shows me something they drew I will ask them what it is and why they drew it. We can help the kids with problem solving by if they have a problem offering them a set of solution cards so they can try different solutions out. We can encourage and suggest solutions also (Charlesworth 2017). WE can help the children learn in group time by go over letters and sight words. Reading them books and asking questions about the book. The children can use toys that are intended for learning as in an alphabet puzzle.

2. Families in my opinion play an important role in helping their children learn. I feel like learning starts at home learning colors, Letters, numbers, how to count, and shapes. This will help the children become successful in the school age. I feel like parents should be in communication with their child’s teacher and ask what the child is learning that week so they can continue to practice at home. When the child gets homework sit down with the child and do it and help them. Have that intimate time with them all the while helping them. I did this with all 4 of my children I want them to succeed.

3. There are many different races and cultures here in the US. I am white and Puerto Rican and I was not raised with my biological father, so I was raised by my mom (Puerto Rican) and my stepdad (Mexican) who raised me since I was 2. I adopted the Mexican culture as well as Puerto Rican. We are raised way different than other households as in we must as a woman help mom with the house as in cooking and cleaning. Homework for me was last as per my parents. Sometimes I would have so much homework and would have to stay up late doing it because of the way my parents were. I am not mad at them that is just how they were brought up and how they knew to raise us. Now me with my children I am quite different to me school is so important. I am that mom who emails and texts the teacher on the regular basis and if I see my child is struggling, I am calling the teacher to help me help them.

  1. Describe how teacher’s support children’s thinking, learning, and problem solving. Provide examples to support your argument.
  • Teacher support children’s learning, thinking and problem solving skills by encouraging communication. Educators teach children how to analyze, question, and think more broadly. By promoting Piaget’s thinking, problem solving is being exercised in the classroomWe can help the kids with problem solving by if they have a problem offering them a set of solution cards so they can try different solutions out.

2. Describe the role of the family in supporting children’s learning.

  • Having positive and cooperative interactions with children at a young age while completing a task let’s them know you’re there to support them which causes motivation. One of the critical elements for success for a child’s learning would be the collaboration between parents and teachers. Both sets of adults can work together when it applies to a child’s specific needs about education and which approach to learning may work best for them. Parents are also responsible for supporting learning that occurs in the classroom by creating consistency in the home.

3. Explain the sociocultural factors that affect learning and thoroughly explain.

  • Some socio-cultural factors to consider that may affect learning is remembering that all children are not the same. Some children may react to different situations completely differently than another child would. Different cultures have their own set of norms, values and customs. Southeast Asian parents and children may have a hard time communicating with teachers ev
